LAC Co., Ltd., (hereinafter the "Company") appropriately manages the personal information of customers, business partners, shareholders, and employees based on its Privacy Policy, and endeavors to protect all such personal information.

* Personal information relating to employees. Used for management of employment-related matters, such as human resources, work duties, salaries and other remuneration, employee welfare, etc.

* Personal information about people seeking to join the Company. Used for recruitment-related activities, such as communication and recruit selection, improving the corporate website (recruitment information), etc.

** Personal information about persons who have contacted or visited the Company.
Used for the purpose of responding to inquiries, including contacting individuals concerned, providing information, and managing responses.

Website security management measures

The Company website uses the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) data encryption protocol to secure and protect personal information provided by those filling out forms on the Company's website. In addition, security measures have been put in place to prevent information leaks and other potential security threats.

In addition, the Company website uses cookies in some cases to enable users to use the site more easily, but cookies are not used to gain information that can identify individuals (cookies are files that are sent from a website to a users' computer, and contain information entered on the website by the user).

Entrustment of personal information

The Company may entrust provided personal information to external parties to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose for which the information was obtained and facilitate business operations. In such cases, the Company shall select companies that meet the Company's standards, enter into a contract regarding the handling of personal information, and perform appropriate supervision.

Disclosure and provision to third parties

The Company shall only disclose or provide personal information to third parties when any of the following five conditions apply.

  • (1)When the individual concerned provides their consent
  • (2)When disclosure or provision is required based on laws or regulations
  • (3)When disclosure or provision is necessary to protect people's lives, physical well-being, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual concerned
  • (4)When disclosure or provision is particularly necessary in the interests of improvements to public health or the promotion of sound development in children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual concerned
  • (5)When disclosure or provision is necessary in order to cooperate with national and/or local governmental bodies in their performance of public duties, and there is a possibility that obtaining the consent of the individual concerned may hinder the governmental bodies in their performance of those duties.

The Company shares personal information with other companies in the LAC Group.

Requests for disclosure of retained personal information

The Company shall respond without delay and in accordance with established procedures to requests from an individual (or their appointed representative) for the disclosure of personal information about the individual obtained by and still in the Company's possession ("retained personal information").

Individuals (or their appointed representatives) can make the following requests to the Company regarding retained personal information.

  • (1)Disclosure of personal information held by the Company and notification of the purpose of use
  • (2)Correction, supplementation, or deletion of personal information held by the Company
  • (3)Suspension of use of retained personal information, or its erasure, or suspension of provision of said information to third parties

■Procedures for requesting disclosure, etc., of personal information

1.Where to send requests for disclosure, etc. of personal information

Direct requests for notification of purpose of use/disclosure of retained personal information and requests for correction,
supplementation, deletion, or suspension of its use to the "Contact Desk for requests relating to handling of personal information, related complaints, and consultation" below. After receipt of an inquiry, a "Written Request for Disclosure, Correction, Deletion, etc. of Personal Information" form shall be sent along with a detailed explanation of the procedures for submitting requests. Upon receipt of the documents, please fill out the provided form and return it along with all other required documents, such as personal identification documents, and the required fee.

2.Documents to be submitted with requests

  • (1)When a request is made by the individual concerned

  • (2)Requests made on an individual's behalf by an appointed representative

    4. Power of attorney or other document indicating the appointed representative's status as a statutory proxy (*2)

*1 The following documents can be used as personal identification documents for the individual concerned or an appointed representative:

  • 1) Driver's license, passport, health insurance card, pension handbook, or other ID document that shows the same address as that shown on the individual's certificate of residence and that facilitates confirmation of the individual's current address
  • 2) A copy of the individual's certificate of residence issued within the past six months

*2 The following documents can be used as proof of power of attorney or status as statutory proxy:

  • 1) In the case of a statutory proxy, a copy of the statutory proxy's family register and a written court ruling
  • 2) In the case of an appointed representative, a power of attorney document with the concerned individual's personal seal affixed and a personal seal registration certificate issued within the past three months
  • 3. The fee for requests for disclosure, etc.

    The fee for each request for disclosure of personal information and notification of the purpose of use is 1,000 yen (including tax). No charges apply for other types of request. Please enclose a 1,000 yen postal money order together with the written request documents.

    4. The Company's response to requests for disclosure, etc.

    The Company shall post its reply to the address stated in the request documents via registered mail that can only be delivered directly to the addressee. It generally takes at least two weeks from the time the disclosure-related procedures commence for the individual to receive the Company's response. In addition, please understand that a response may take more than two weeks if the customer response unit is busy or if there are other operational circumstances that lead to a delayed response.

    5.Purpose of use of personal information acquired through a request for disclosure, etc.

    Personal information acquired in connection with a request for disclosure, etc. shall be used solely for the purpose of fulfilling the request. The Written Request for Disclosure, Correction, Deletion, etc. of Personal Information shall be stored for five years and then discarded in an appropriate manner. In addition, identity verification documents shall be disposed of in an appropriate manner after three years.

    6. Reasons for non-disclosure of retained personal information

    The Company may decline to disclose all or parts of the information requested, depending on the content of the request. In the case of a non-disclosure decision, the Company shall notify the individual of its decision and the reasons for that decision. Also, please note that disclosure request fees will still be charged without refund even in non-disclosure cases.

    ■About retained personal information

    Retained personal information refers to personal data as defined by Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information as well as personal data (i.e., personal information kept in a database, etc.) that the Company has the authority to disclose; correct, supplement or delete the content of; suspend the utilization of; erase; and suspend the provision of to third parties.

    Note however that data falling into the four categories below does not constitute "retained personal information".

    • (1)Personal data that, if its presence or absence became known, could result in harm to the life, physical well-being, or property of the individual concerned or a third party,
    • (2)Personal data that, if its presence or absence became known, could encourage or induce illegal or unjust acts,
    • (3)Personal data that, if its presence or absence became known, could pose a risk to national security, cause damage to Japan's relations of trust with other countries or international organizations, or prove disadvantageous to Japan's negotiations with other countries or international organizations,
    • (4)Personal data that, if its presence or absence became known, could hinder the prevention, suppression, or investigation of crimes, or interfere in other ways with the maintenance of public safety and order.
