Computer Security Laboratory

The Computer Security Laboratory (CSL) is the most advanced institution in Japan conducting research into computer security. Here, security analysts with a wide range of state-of-the-art expertise carry out specialized research on new threats and effective countermeasures. The subjects of such research cover a wide range of domains, from gathering information on and researching the latest threats to protection, testing, and monitoring methods.

Furthermore, the CSL also conducts verification testing using real-world attack methods, accumulating knowledge exclusive to LAC in both offensive and defensive techniques and technologies. Rather than simply following the lead of the United States, the CSL has taken steps to familiarize itself with the unique points of the Japanese-language environment, and the CSL Report it publishes is recognized in the industry as the most reliable in Japan.
